Mr Jig Patel FRCS

Mr Jig Patel is a Consultant in trauma and an Orthopaedic Surgeon at University
College Hospital, London (UCH). Jig Patel graduated from Southampton University.
His orthopaedic surgical training was based in major London teaching hospitals and
the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. His training was enhanced by a year long
fellowship in London, Ontario Canada, specialising in hip and knee surgery. Mr Patel had been a consultant
at Kings College Hospital, London previously and joined University College Hospital
in January 2004. His interests include hip and knee disorders as well as computer
assisted joint replacement surgery,
arthroscopic knee surgery and minimally
invasive fixation of fractures.
As a hip and knee specialist his practice involves the diagnosis and treatment of
knee and hip disorders. This includes sports injuries, fractures as well as degenerative
conditions affecting the hip and the knee.
Surgical procedures specialised by Mr Patel, include Knee Arthroscopy, knee ligament re-construction,
hip and knee replacements, as well as revision

Consultant Anaesthetist
Dr Verma is a Consultant Anaesthetist at University College Hospital, London.(UCH)
He graduated from St. Georges Hospital Medical School, London and trained in anaesthesia
at University College Hospital, London and Australia.
Dr Verma has a extensive experience of anaesthesia used in orthopaedics and cardiac
anaesthesia. After graduating from St. Georges Medical School, Dr. Verma trained
in anesthesia at University College Hospital. He trained and worked for a year in
Australia as a fellow before taking up his appointment at University College Hospital.
